Because earthquake 27/02/2010, was burned by the Faculty of Chemical substances in explosion laboratories and the building remains a holiday. Being 
university community awareness in political affairs, was harshly punished by the military dictatorship following the coup of 9/11/1973. A chilling fact: 58 students at the university were killed or disappeared by the criminal regime of Pinochet. Some memorials are remembered.
